Katarina Brieditis, designer and knitting expert
There is nothing that Katarina Brieditis can't knit. When she gets going - casts on, takes in and takes out - all of a sudden, Voila! She has knit a pair of high-heeled red boots or a hat that looks like a crazy porcupine. Knitting is her passion, and there is no technique she hasn't mastered. Brieditis studied at Tillskärarakademin and at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm.
Katarina Evans, designer and embroidery expert
Katarina Evans grew up traveling the world with her parents who worked in the field of development. At first Katarina thought she, too, wanted to work with development, but her focus turned to textiles. Watching her grandmother embroider and knit in Ytterhogdal (in northern Sweden), left its mark and inspired Katarina.
Katarina is most fond of embroidery, and she has a certificate in that craft. She is also trained to be a handicraft adviser. Today she works as product developer at the Swedish textile company Linum and travels to India several times a year. Each trip confirms her experience. "Handicraft is a global language. Wherever you travel you can see familiar signs," says Katarina.
Ulla-Karin Hellsten, president of Östergötlands Ullspinneri
Raised in Ulricehamn, Sweden, Ulla-Karin was surrounded by products from the town's wool factory. Hence, she has always been fascinated by wool. Ulla-Karin studied at the University College for Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm, and together with her husband Börje Norberg started Östergötlands Ullspinneri in 1981. There, in a barn in the woods near Ödeshög, they spin extremely soft yarns. Through the years they have worked with many of Sweden's foremost textile designers. In 1997, the children's sheep motif blanket (designed by Ulla-Karin) brought them to Japan, where they have a lot of customers.

She is driven to spread knowledge about Swedish textile handicraft. Sonoko coordinates and initiates different collaborations with Japan.
